Listening to:Latin Note, St. Germaine
Thinking of:
Everybody say AYE! Well, so another committee term comes to and end and a whole bunch of people get thrown into the committee dungeon for a new term! Hah! SUckers! Oh wait, I'm one of them...
Before you folks think I've fallen down again while trying to get up from the floor when I lost my rucker, well think again! Anyway, the Malaysian Society held its Annual General Meeting on Monday and well, this time around, I hopped on the boat as post-grad rep. A post almost devoid of duties and well, it sounds good. But really, I'm hoping to accomplish this year what no other post grad rep has achieved before. Form an integeration with the main society to a small extent! Oh well, here is hoping...
Anyway, on other news and issues... I finally watched the last of the 3 debates between Bush and Kerry and sad to say, none of them really stood out. Its perpetually Kerry saying Bush has cut budgets and measured something differently and Bush would say something else. Though once again, Kerry seemed a little down in the charisma department (some Clinton magic, anyone?) and Bush was doing what he does best (The federal govt? I hope not!). Heck, based loosely on that one debate... I think the MC of the debate should run for president!
Lately, I've been feeling rather unmotivated and I don't know what has gotten into me! Sure, I'm still doing a bit of work here and there, but not as much as I could in a day (within reasonable hours of course). Sitting on the table is another incomplete assignment and another literature review. Be it any consolation, one assignment has been handed in and another awaits printing. So 1/2 done! Well, of course... throw in some reading for the literature review and plans for the project. Hmmm...
I'm perplexed by everything going around me and well, I'm stumped again by my work. Where is the progress?! I've also discovered that I have absolutely no flair when it comes to mathematical programming (thank goodness for Dhamm. and Beatrice). I'm beginning to question my resolve in other matters as well. I question my seriousness when dealing with issues and my ability to think out of the box and to present my views without offending or being intimidated expressing them.
Gaunlet thrown? Should I let all the black and the white, fade to grey?

Listening to:Futures, Jimmy Eat World
Thinking of:
A week, a load of things... Barely have I found time to breathe and at times, it feel nauseating on the other hand, some give a sudden rush of adrenaline and at others, its just comforting. A whole mix of emotions to the fore and when it slowly drains off, sometimes all is left is a strange void.
It builds character! I suppose that is gonna be the phrase the future will say in retrospect in regards to the present. Of Aliens and spaceships, road trips, being a representative, to be driven to the brink and jumped right off and to be helped out and cared about. Its all too varied... The result is a postgraduate sat in his room typing out his blog listening to some pretty good emo tunes (emo isn't short for emotional). I'm thinking of getting this album... Jimmy Eat World, Futures...
Reading the previous paragraph, I just realized how random it actually is. Hmmm... Oh y'know what?! TOUGH! Man, I really need to find some topic to write about and find the time to actually write a proper entry. I suppose this will do for now

Listening to: So Flute, St. Germaine
Thinking of:
-An oatmeal cookie-
Like a bit of cookie thats broken off after a tustle, I feel the same way as well. Of course, without the fear of being dipped into milk and munched on later by some kid. A little guilty, a little sad and well, a little blank. But only as blank as the face of the cookie as its being dipped into that big glass of milk.

Listening to: 3*5, John Mayer
Thinking of:
How many engineers does it take to work a photocopy machine? Well, our resident tall friend, Jackie decided to take an aptitude test while Dhammika, Beatrice and myself decided to pop by the Learning Grid to grab a book and to take a look at the place. The place definitely funky, with nice couches, workstations and grided cubicles. Oh did I forget to mention the many 42 inch plasma screens and dvd players? I swear Steve Jobs had a hand in the design, looks almost Apple like (which is good). But anyway, back to the first line... So we found the book and realized that since its for reference, it was not possible to get it out of the place. So we hopped over to the photocopy machine with photocopying card in hand, all eager and bright eyed! Alas! It asked us for our username and password! What the?! *Blink* So yeah, we stared at it for a while, pressed a couple of buttons on the really nice, but annoying touch screen and nope! Lousy GUI! So as we found out a couple of minutes later from a really nice girl that you've gotta buy credits online and then use the darned machine. By that time, we found it ironic that 3 engineers found that the machine contained more technology than needed. Oh well, so it was back to copying the answer the old fashioned way... with the pen and paper. Sigh... Cest la Vie.

Listening to: Songbird, Eva Cassidy
Thinking of:
-Autumn Leaves-
The sound of leaves under one's foot heralds the arrival autumn. A more somber season, one for contemplating and reflection before the cold of winter sets in to give the good ole' bones and reality a chill.
I love autumn! I say that line every year... I love it cause its one when one can take long walks on leave strewn paths alone or with someone else, sampling the crisp air and to see the ducklings all grown up. Its still warm enough to sail or even on paddle boats. To sit on a bench to read a book. Without much fan fare and sudden shrieks of joy... I say goodbye to summer and embrace autumn with open arms and anticipation. Colorful and romantic, and with a slightly moody character, autumn... Definitely with a charm and character of it's own. Like a old gentleman and his eccentricities.
The falling leaves drift by the window
The autumn leaves of red and gold
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sunburned hand I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all, my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall
I see your lips, the summer kisses
The sunburned hand I used to hold
Since you went away the days grow long
And soon I'll hear old winter's song
But I miss you most of all, my darling
When autumn leaves start to fall

Listening to: Typical Situation, Dave Matthews Band
Thinking of:
So, most of my error analysis stuff is done... A small feeling of achievement! Now lets do something! Urrr... but what? Sigh, everyone is busy and everyone else is occupied. On the other hand, I think the redbull has gotten to me and I feel kinda hyper but the weather is kinda depressing.
Bumped into Jade and Pete today, 2 aquaintances... Got fined by the bloody library. Bought kitchen towels... And thats it. Oh well...

Listening to: -None-
Thinking of:
Well, it shall be Happy Birthday to Sophia on Sunday, but y'know... what the heck! Happy Birthday Babe!
Now, well wishes aside... The more you know, the more you know that there is to know. Somehow thats the thought that has resided in my mind after a night out with a bunch of friends to Old Orleans in Coventry. Somehow the deterioration in the ability to make out conversation has definitely hit me pretty bad and perhaps its a confidence issue, on the other hand I believe its probably because I don't know as much as I should. Here is to spending time reading literature apart from risk analysis and structural mechanics.

Listening to: 4 Seasons of Lonliness, Boyz II Men
Thinking of:
Gah, I'm turning busy... if not doing accademic stuff, I'm here there and everywhere. Sigh... But I think it's good to be doing things than let the idle mind go running off into the sunset.
Anyway, played stunt kites with Danial and well, TJ sprained his ankle. Popped by Godfrey Hall, BMW showroom and well... had so many pretty shiney BMW's. Sigh... Now if someone would pass me a winning lotto. ticket, I'd be most grateful. Giving 1/2 the initial earnings to charity. But anyway, back to the day, so those 2 things pretty much took up the whole day and with the addition of lectures and meetings and a swim in the morning. Sigh, I'm pooped. Anyway, thought I'd write something while I can... Now, pass me the Gin and Tonic. Hehehe... Bye!

Listening to: With or Without You, U2
Thinking of:
Being back in University has not been all doom and gloom... in fact there are little joys in being back and good friends to catch up with. So far I've met up with the Leamington bunch, a couple of engineering groups, some Malaysian bunch and met more new people too. So, I can't really say it's been bad eh?
I've applied for the Arts Center job and will probably be hoping to fill in an application for Sozo's and Xanana's. Well, to be honest... I don't know if I'll get any of them. Classes have begun and I've been pretty well occupied past 9am in the morning. So far, the prof.'s are pretty cool and well... one of them might fire out words at 20words a second, but he's decently informative and the rest have been pretty funny.
-In the name of God, stop a moment, cease your work, look around you.
Leo Tolstoy (1828 - 1910)-
Well, back to doom and gloom... Somehow I believe I need therapy and all...The start of term always remind me of the passing of several good friends. I probably have written about it more than once before, but they deserve it. Lou'ise was chirpy till the day her eyes closed never to be opened ever again, suffered from a tumor and though lost most of her hair and weight, she remained cheerful as ever and never let the disease or treatment slow her zest for life. I remember the last time I met her, she told me about how she tried skateboards for the first time in her life and wrote articles for a youth magazine back home. I remember how she joked about how other girls would like to lose as much weight as her. She wanted to dye the short hair she had then (it grew back after chemo) and make it look like Pink. Yet, cruel fate called her home so soon...
I suppose there is a moral to this... How though in the dashing and zooming around of life, there is something worth stopping for. Maybe the roses, maybe its just the sights. Perhaps its the chap in the next cubicle that needs someone to speak to... Well, it is easier said than done... But y'know, a little effort goes a long way. Right, I don't want to be the old Uncle who gives out advice with his broadsheet at a coffee place.
