Always a Light

-Most of the time, there's always a light at the end of the tunnel... Canon Powershot Pro1, sometime last summer-

SUPLISE!

Listening to: Nothing
Thinking of:

Nothing quite startles as a phone call in the library

Also, there are so many great photographers out there... how is it possible to make a mark?

"You could offer services to photograph funerals instead of weddings"

Thinking of:

A myraid of products out and while I'm happy jumping around, there's a tinge of disappointment not only that I won't be able to afford most of them. No worries, patience... patience... lottery, lottery...

But anyway, without haste... a summary of Canon's early Easter basket of which I'm interested in (the full list is pretty long and do check out www.dpreview.com for it.)

1. Canon 30D slr body
It could have been a big upgrade but Canon has decided to go evolution instead of revolution, keeping the image sensor from the 20D (meaning there's no upgrade in image quality. With that said, the 20D posseses a pretty good image sensor anyway) with updates here and there. Best of all, even with these upgrades, there's a drop in price compared to it's predecessor... the 20D. But of course, it could have been so much more. Cest la vie

2. Canon EF-S 17-55mm F2.8 IS lens
Good grief! Just when I requested help from KL to enquire about a 17- 40 f4 L lens... they throw this one at you. Sure, it doesn't wear the L badge with the red rings and it's an EF- S (restricted to currently 3 camera bodies, 350D, 20D and 30D) but at F2.8 and built in Image Stablisation... it is something not to be overlooked.

3. Canon EF 85mm F1.2 II lens
*Jaw drops* Anyone for portraits? Got the cash? Well... This is the bomb!

4. Canon PowerShot SD600 and SD630
New IXUS cameras, 6MP across this range and 3X optical zoom. No optical viewfinder though, taking a page off Nikon's release. SD630 features a large ammount of LCD real estate, 3 inches! Specs. look good, so does the camera

5. Canon PowerShot SD700 IS
New flagship IXUS (it happens quite frequently though).
6MP, 4X optical zoom, ISO 800 and image stabiliser in such a delectable case.
* ISO 800 and optical IS for flash-free indoor shooting
* Canon's DIGIC II image processor, iSAPS and 9-point AiAF
* Wide viewing angle 2.5" LCD screen
* 16 shooting modes
* My Colors photo effects
* Widescreen (16:9) stills recording
* 30fps VGA movies

Anyway, regular non- techie stuff will resume shortly.

Dr. Chinaman

Listening to:
Thinking of:

Umbrella over his head, a scowl on his face
Brilliance in his mind, surpressed by home, segregated in a foreign land
As puddles splashed, he walked on, not looking up
What is he thinking, what is his considerations
Cold and alone, walking the beat of his world

-EOS 350D, f3.5, 1/15 ISO800, Full Manual, Photoshoped-

-EOS 350D, 18-55, full manual mode-

It seems like pictures are like an excuse not to write a proper blog entry (not that I've doing much of that lately anyway). This was during one of the Malaysia Night practices in Butterworth Hall. Pity wasn't there to shoot for the night itself, unfortunately the prospect of employment is greater than the need to press the shutter.

Over the Weekend

Listening to:
Thinking of:

5 kids astray
4 different tube lines
3 Arsenal Players
2 Newspapers
1 Still jobless and at interviews

Huh, have this tendency of not writing for days and then spewing out a gazillion entries a day. Anyway, yep... Attended some interviews over the weekend in the Four Seasons, Canary Wharf. That's where I met Thiery Henry, Robert Pires and somebody else, who happened to be out for a drink. Think Pat Rice was around as well... anyway, met up with some old friends, had some food, some drink and a lot of time on rails. Cest la vie.
Listening to:
Thinking of:

Canon Park

Roses: 14.99
Strawberries: The shelf was wiped clean by Valentines Locusts
Champagne: Horde of guys wondering if the 5 quid bottle is alright

It can only be Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day, you know who you are. *hop*
