my two cents on the topic.. not a derivative, but some insight.
the first time i read the untranslated ending line to the poem :
"carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero"
I thought that meant "seize the day, at least have some credible (good?) posture" = sit properly or else tomorrow your back will be bent like an old grandmother.
